ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

In cooperation with Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, the Frankfurt Naxoshalle and the Mal seh'n cinema, among others, are firmly established venues and partners. In addition to an extensive film program, workshops and concerts provide an opportunity to celebrate the Japanese way of living.

What began as a student project in 2000 became the world's largest festival for Japanese film under the direction of Marion Klomfaß. In 2013, the Japanese Foreign Minister honored the festival director for her services to German-Japanese cultural exchange.
